About CEMTPP

The Center for Energy, Marine Transportation and Public Policy trains a new generation of policy makers and business leaders through its engaging and innovative academic programs and research.

Housed in the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, CEMTPP offers the graduate-level concentration of International Energy Management and Policy (IEMP) in conjunction with the master's level degree programs at SIPA.  Through its diverse and distinguished faculty, CEMTPP is a leader in training students to be prepared for challenging issues such as urban energy, energy and development, climate change, global energy governance, and marine transportation.  A distinguishing feature of the IEMP track is the hands-on experience that is gained through workshops and field research which are available for students.

Research at CEMTPP encompasses a number of subject areas, such as urban energy, marine transportation, global energy governance, and climate change.  These ongoing research initiatives of the Center enrich the student's experience as an IEMP concentrator as well as contribute to these significant research areas.
